How did these four working-class Manchester oinks do it? Ian Curtis & company recorded this live at the legendary Les Bains Douches in Paris on December 18th, 1979. Wikipedia lists their original active dates as 1978-1983, but it looks like they didn't release a demo until after Unknown Pleasures. While the title of this record would bring a chuckle to the lips of any American teenager, the recordings inside (taken from three live shows) are anything but laughable. This album is faster and messier than anything heard from the studio. The whole atmosphere is intense and humming, the band are all together... a marked contrast to the first CD in this set (preston warehouse) it is very focused and a belter... we have a very twisted, insane synth version of Love Will Tear Us Apart, a very different sound to the studio version.
