Try pulling back so far into your territory that Chaos goes after someone else like the Empire or the Dwarves, especially if you flee and set allied targets to cover your retreat. The Chaos just pulled back from Eastern Border Princes after destroying Akendorf. It would at least have been helpful if the Chaos wouldn't have attacked me non stop with several armies at once. So yeah, lore wise this doesn't work with VC and chaos being friends. I led a Vamp army against 2 stacks of Chaos, including Archeon, and managed to win. After the battle, raise dead and repeat. This will give you some MUCH needed ranged power, which if you're defending from chaos, you'll want to use to destroy those god damned hellfire cannon bitches, that are entirely too powerful. Edit: VC (specifically Von Carstien) don't really hate anyone but Whoever sits on the Throne to the empire. Capitals that have been developed are a pretty good squat spot, and offer way better last stand spots than undeveloped empire frontier towns. Get some of those to soak some damage while you heal them and you should have some better lasting power. I can beat chaos as vampire on normal. Mind you their lords is archeon the everchosen, kholek suneater, and generic lord. We were somewhat even until Archaons Army arrived and completely destroyed what little remained of my Army. Then after that an all out war for the domination of the world. Even if it doesn’t stop a doomstack, you can focus your towers on high-risk units, possibly taking them down or at least weakening them. we're gonna build a wall and make chaos pay for it, And then Mannfred kills Balthasar Gelt and literally causes the end of the world so... maybe not the most successful alliance. I'm starting to get better at fighting the Chaos. You think the Vampire Counts are going to build just a regular wall? I barely even managed to establish 4 or 5 stable provindes. Infact, VC teamed up with the Empire in holding up the last wall against chaos. Right now for example I got Kemmler at lvl 14 with a Vampire, 3 Grave Guard Great Weapons, 2 Cairn Wraiths, 2 Hexwraiths, 2 Terrorgheist, 3 Vargheist, 2 Varghulf and 4 Crypt Horrors facing off against Helcrof @ lvl 20 with a bunch of Chosen (Great Weapons), Chaos Warrios, Cannons and so on AND Archaon @ lvl 21 with a bunch of Chaos Warriors (Halberds), 3 chaos chariots, 3 Giants, 2 Trolls and another 3 cannons and some other units. It's a giant faith wall and every few miles or so there's teams of priests constantly praying and enchanting the walls so it doesnt fall. Archaon is wounded, he has gone into hiding though I think, can't see him anywhere on the map. chaos can most definitely corrupt the vampires, i mean being a vampire is all about spilling blood so khorne is pretty rock hard for vampires. They usually attack/defend with 2 armies, I usually attack/defend with 2-4 Armies. I really don't understand what the Game wants me to do, how am I supposed to defeat them? Demolish those and on the next turn, start building walls. Anyway, swarming their 1/2 Armies with 2/3/4 armies non stop due to raise dead works wonders. Chaos does not work with Vampires. Caster lords kind of suck. Also looking for someone with experience regarding CSS. Also, no matter where you're fighting, you'll want to be sure to take a few fliers. Your end army is pretty decent, but you are literally out numbered by end game chaos units, so unless you can somehow murder down the first stack before the seconds reinforcements arrive, you're going to have trouble. I learned a lot in these two restarts and I feel like I have a good understanding of how the game works. Very convenient and handy. It's basic self preservation. It would have been cool if the northern factions would have taken over all of the northern provinces and you'd have to work with the other factions to push them back and eventually eradicate them.
