The record's editing of the audio sources is based on a study regarding people with Alzheimer's disease  being able to remember music they listened to when they were younger, as well as where they were and how they felt when they listened to it. As mentioned most samples appear untraceable without access to Kirby’s personal record collection, therefore I wish to suggest several pieces which one whom enjoyed the record but may not be knowledgeable of the era it pays tribute too wouldn’t have heard. ‘These vague snippets of archaic songs reflect the ability of Alzheimer’s patients to recall the songs of their past’, Kirby states on his Bandcamp page, ‘and with them recollections of places, people, moods and sensations’. In the same article, critic Mike Powell remarked how Kirby’s concepts were more engaging than his music, and I couldn’t agree more. As his hungover self was coerced into visiting a record shop in New York, a lackadaisical Kirby stumbled across ‘one box of old stuff (everything else was overpriced) and I bought seven or eight albums, all of which were diamonds somehow’.
