I can’t vouch for their other guns, but if the Raptor model is any indication of the quality of their other lines, then these are some very well built and reliable shotguns. They are only made in 20 gauge. From cheap light target loads to 3 inch Winchester buckshot it kept on chugging. I am scrupulous when it comes to gun cleaning. Possibly the most innovative aspect of the F3—and this is a highly innovative shotgun—is its modularity. So, if you buy a 12-gauge F3 and one day decide you want a 28-gauge, all you'd have to do is buy the barrels. The fit, as described, isn’t up to the standards of Holland & Holland, but it isn’t bad either. MGW carries TriStar models like the Raptor, Cobra, & Viper which are ideal for defense / field shooters and available in youth models. I've tested many Tristar shotguns and have yet to be disappointed. The recoil is very mild for a 20 gauge and a shotgun that only weighs 6.5 lbs. This feature is not unheard of, but rare at the Standard F3's price point of $7,000. But other than looking like something a Disney Princess threw up on, the TriStar was a surprisingly nice shotgun. The pink shotgun in this review is one of the youth model Raptors. As far as aesthetics go, well, I just love the lines on this gun. This plug is easy to remove, and allows for three more shells to be inserted. TriStar’s warranty is five years. Its a light gun, and reviews like this saying it recoils nice for young kids is false and a big let down but the more you did, the more you find that this guns recoil will flat out scare a kid away from wanting to shoot it. The recoil even made me a tad uncomftorable. Overall, the TriStar Arms Raptor ATAC Turkey gun is lightweight for easy carrying, accurate for taking the head off that big ol’ tom you called in, and versatile. Perhaps its relatively new emergence here is why it so often takes a backseat to more venerable brands. From rib to receiver to stock, the SA-08 simply flows the way a shotgun ought to, and the wood varieties feature surprisingly nice walnut.
