My curiosity as to what breed he might be brought me to your web site. Very smart, because if I’m there the door can’t close on him. He takes to paper so a few accidents but doing good with positive reinforcement. One is imagining how she got her name. After much patient I learned their differences and learn to love Phi for Phi. I’m not sure he knew the man was making fun of him, but Zeus certainly took the man’s actions and tone as agressive. I smiled when her feature submission came through. She came to me from a nefarious character. She is my heart. The Chihuahua breed is an ancient breed (circa 5th century A.D.) from Mexico and South America while the Miniature Pinscher originated half-way across the world in Germany and much more recently (mid-19th century A.D.). My Chinpin Phiona (Phi-phi) is my baby. He spent the first several hours running around the couch in the living room at top speed. He loves to play all day and plays well with most other dogs both small and large. He's very loyal to his person, and his short hair requires little grooming. My husband was on his morning walk when this little guy started following him. The min pin, as they're commonly called, requires more exercise than the average toy breed, so he's a good choice for the person who wants a small canine game for long walks or jogging. He also looks like a baby fawn. I’m still confused of what dog I have. Link to this comment. I went on a trip and when I returned she was much heavier. This way, your interior will be better preserved and your Miniature Pinscher will have a more beautiful coat. I can’t imagine my life without him now. I’m leaning towards a Chipin after reading your article. I used the Wisdom Panel 3.0. “Ears set high, standing erect from base to tip.” While the Miniature Pinscher’s ears are set high and stand erect, a Chihuahua’s are set at a 45 degree angle. The Miniature Pinscher Chihuahua mix, or Chipin dog, is a cross between a purebred Miniature Pincher and a purebred Chihuahua. He loves to play and is also a great watch dog. The Miniature PInscher is actually an older breed than the Doberman Pinscher. She has lovely brindle coloring on her head and legs, she’s blue-gray along her back and white on the tips of her paws. Her teeth are great and her vision is quite good as well. At three months, he suffered a fractured femur. I am convinced he is a min pin or MinPin mix. In 1972 the breed's name was amended to 'Miniature Pinscher'. We are looking for more of a younger dog for our family. This friendly canine matures between 11 and 13 inches tall, weighing 10 to 13 pounds. When he was finished whatever he was up to, he ran up to the front porch. It will weigh just 5 to 11 pounds and stand 7 to 12 inches tall. Harley weighs about 12 pounds and is brown and tan. I was back in Asia but Mom found loving homes for each one. So I carry him on narrow streets with lots of pedestrians and traffic and across the biggest avenida, but make him walk like a good boy in safe areas, and he is very proud of the way he steps smartly along. Not that it matters, but now I’m curious about the breed characteristics that are combined in him. His rounded skull can be seen in the picture below. I have never actually owned a dog and really never wanted one. His parents were a mean Chiuahua female and I don’t know of the other dog . The FURMINATOR brush for Miniature Pinscher. Like the Chi, the papillon is a bright little dog, but usually has an overall better temperament than the Chi. A Chipin is a mix of a Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher. Link to this comment. My vet says he is a mini pin but I’ve had my doubts. Although not true terriers, Chihuahuas tend to be terrier-like in temperament. When viewed straight on, the Miniature Pinscher’s front legs are straight and the elbows at the top of its front legs are held close to the dog’s body. He’ll act like he’s going to behave himself for about a half hour, and then I have to go looking for him. Weissanheimer for the German in him. I love the both of these little guys personalites. He’s black and brown, with big round eyes. My wife took it from a house in deploreable conditions. This breed exhibits straight, parallel lines on its legs. Link to this comment, My wife and grandchildren found a lost puppy that we think might be a chi pin and your description makes us more confident in that assessment. He is fawn colored with a ridge of darker hair down his back. No idea what my little one is. It was called Pinscher and the AKC's description of referring to it as appearing like a Doberman led to the incorrect belief it was a miniature doberman pinscher. The Miniature Pinscher originated in 18th century Germany. Another Chi Pin, Sir Winston, Finds a Home! My mother once said she wanted her next dog to be a lap dog. I had no idea what she was talking about. Characteristic traits are their hackney-like action, fearless animation, complete self-possession, and spirited presence. and is quite leery of big buses and trucks, but not of bigger dogs! Colors: Several coat colors are recognized for Miniature Pinschers. Either way, they are a fun breed to own. my dog tink is so cute but when people first come in she barks like a 50 lb dog! Harley is extremely smart but also extremely stubborn. We also got him for free, because a local realtor subsidizes local adoptions, and the people at the vets know our dogs live long lives. I am happy to have her as I had lost both my 17 yo Australian Cattle Dogs in the last 18 months (Joey a Blue Heeler and Maddie a Red Heeler) and was still mourning them considerably. My “Buddy” is a local celebrity as everyone in the neighborhood loves him and calls out his name. If that means taking off for a while, while I look for him, that’s okay with him. Joey has been nurtured, vetted and neutered. After doing some Internet research I have found that it’s a possibility my dog could be a Minpin. Proper training and socialization will ensure that a Chipin is well-adjusted. Link to this comment. We have a male Chi-Min Pin according to our groomer. I am almost 70 so this dog may outlive me. Most of my dogs have been mixed breeds, and I think mine are the best dogs in the world, except yours, of course. Don’t breed or buy while shelter dogs die. A 3 year old MIniature Pinscher bounds like a Reh deer. I had looked through the adoptions at the animal shelters but couldn’t find her, called the local LE and was told who would have picked her up. Funny Animal Pictures. Can I send you a pic to post too? Thus, when your Min Pin uses its independent thinking to entertain itself in your house, chaos can ensue. The toy fox terrier stands 8.5 to 22.5 inches tall when full-grown, weighing 4 to 9 pounds. They are both black and tan so it looks like their related. Legs should be straight with no bending in or out. No wonder I couldn’t find her, I knew she wasn’t a Chihuahua as my other neighbor has a purebred red Min Pin with docked tail and ears. Because of their similar size and sometimes similar coat color, MIniature Pinschers are often mistaken for Chihuahuas. Min Pin, is a small, square-shaped dog who looks like miniature Doberman Pinschers. The Miniature Pinscher was developed from the Dachshund, Italian Greyhound, and the short haired German Pinscher. . A 3 year old MIniature Pinscher bounds like a Reh deer. Look at the price He has the face markings of a beagle, eyes of a Chihuahua, full grown only 6 pounds. It means “wise ass” in german.
