It's not ok to me and others who naturally embrace the community's definition of upkeep and being neighborly. But you are correct in that, "there are still many who simply ignorance about the law, regardless of intention. as @junk1 said, from a safety point of view, what most manufacturers have already implemented (the geofencing) + that signal (don't know the name) that is constantly broadcasted by the drone so it can be detected by close-by aircrafts (proposed or implemented by some) is all that is needed. Maybe people like yourself who don't know to write properly should be weeded out as well? Perhaps in the interests of truth it would be worth dropping the word 'independent' and note it was commissioned by DJI? I see no reason why quadcopters couldnât be operated is these areas free of any regulatory requirements or digital ID.
