The Grenco Science website refers to the new unit as “ a monumental leap in technology for both brand and industry,” so I was excited to see whether it would live up to the hype. Having a G Pen Elite takes your dry herb vaping experience to the next level. The G Pen Elite is a portable conduction vaporizer that pre-heats in as little as 20 seconds, offers a fully adjustable temp spectrum via LED display on the side of the vaporizer and it is one of the most discreet units I have tested yet.The short vapor path creates hotter than average vapor and the mouthpiece gets pretty hot with prolonged use but I have a couple of techniques to help with that. The G Pen Elite is a mid-range, handheld dry herb vaporizer. Excellent Vapor Production, Super Easy To Use. But for the size and features, the new G-Pen Elite is very competitive next to models like the CFX, Arizer Air, and the Summit+. The heat up time is extremely quick for a portable conduction vaporizer. Grenco Science is perhaps best known for its most famous collaborator: a well-versed cannabis connoisseur of many years, Snoop Dogg partnered with Grenco Science for some of their previous portable vaporizers. I’m able to get between 4-6 sessions on a full charge. Elite vape is offered at a great cost and gives its users great heating power, the battery lasts for long, and services for a crowd. It is nice they have FINALLY created a unique portable vaporizer that I can recommend. While you can’t expect Crafty-level clouds, the vapor production is very good for almost $100. We’re talking up to .4 grams can be loaded into the Elite with an average grind and I was able to get about .5 grams in with the MFLB Finishing Grinder. Now the first con and really the biggest downside to the Elite is the vapor quality. The unit does NOT automatically begin heating on power-up so just hold down the power button for a second to start the heater. The device is equipped with a powerful 2200 mAh lithium-ion battery that takes almost 2-3 hours to charge completely. The first thing I liked about the Elite is the size. Yes, the vapor path is short, and it can get quite hot, but that’s to be expected when you have a device only 6.25 inches tall. Then set the temperature and push/hold the power button again to actually start warming up. I recommend moving your lips up the mouthpiece to reduce the temps and hopefully we will see some third party WPA’s for the Elite soon. The airflow is a little hot since the mouthpiece sits right on top of the oven. Get this if you’re on a budget and you won’t be sorry. You can just drop the mouthpiece in some ISO for a while then rinse it out with some warm water. Its small size makes it super easy to pocket or stash in a small purse/handbag. Most portable vaporizers around $100 are cheap plastic junk, but Grenco Science delivers a decent portable vaporizer for the money and G Pen Elite stands above many other units I’ve tried. The buttons work nicely and don’t feel cheap. G Pen Elite Portable Vaporizer Review. Now it’s not as powerful as Craft or Mighty, but it won’t hurt your wallet as much either. With The G Pen Elite expect a premium vape, exceptional vapor quality, a super easy to use device, and a price tag under $200! Once the unit is powered on, it will show you the default temp that you have it set to. The Elite temp spectrum runs from 200 to 428F or 93 to 220C. But like other conduction units, it is more efficient and tastes better when you finish the session in one sitting. The battery is surprisingly good for the size of the unit. This is where the G Pen Elite delivers the best value, good vapor without any special inhale technique. The Elite uses a 360-degree ceramic heating element that is able to provide very quick and even heating throughout the entire chamber. We’re talking 20-30 seconds to reach 400 degrees Fahrenheit. After quite a bit of testing, the G pen Elite seems to work pretty well with all sorts of packing techniques and dry herb types. Packing down isn’t needed but you will get a bit denser vapor with a light to medium pack. So far it hasn’t been an issue and the good news is that the silicone cover over the mouthpiece is removable. Grenco Science G-Pen Elite Mouthpiece and Chamber Like many portable vaporizers, the GPen Elite does contain plastic components, however Grenco is claiming theirs to be “food-grade”, whatever that means. That’s the big thing I like about units like the Pax, IQ, or the Crafty/Mighty. Even without filling the bowl the oven seems to efficiently heat the cannabis inside.
