The Narrows are generally closed for much of the spring months due to snowmelt and spring run-off (typically mid-March to late May). One piece of gear I would recommend is a hiking stick, we didn't rent these because I brought my own but they will help give you balance when you walk in the water and help you check the depth if you can not tell. Difficulty: Easy to Moderate - Depending upon river volume and desired round-trip mileage. If you are looking to hike the Narrows, its the last stop on the Zion Bus system and is about a 45-minute ride from the Zion National Park Visitors Center. The Narrows is closed to hiking when water flow is above 150 CFS. The canyon walls in Wall Street are over 1500 feet high and get as narrow as 22-feet wide. I think the best suggestion would be to find the most private spot you can and wait for a gap in the hikers.
