placed for touring the whole of North Devon and Cornwall. Wearing comfortable non slip soled shoes is a must because the cobbles can be slippery. The building itself is modelled on a traditional Devon long-barn and is home to a ‘Picarooner’ fishing boat, unique to Clovelly, which is suspended from the Visitor Centre ceiling.The fee that you pay at the Visitor Centre, covers parking, entrance to this privately owned village, admission to the audio-visual show, the Fisherman’s Cottage, the Kingsley Museum as well as Clovelly Court Gardens. Situated on the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast, a long stretch of rugged cliffs gazing down at the Atlantic Ocean, this part of the country is a popular area for beach-loving hounds. The visitors centre is a little large but has all of the facilities that a centre of this type needs and requires to satisfy the general public. Home to a popular cafe, as well as souvenir shops. The picture-postcard village of Clovelly is a delight with its pretty white-washed 16th-century cottages perched on the clifftop above the harbour and charming working donkeys. With full bellies and wagging tails, you can head back to one of our dog-friendly cottages in Clovelly where you’ll find enclosed gardens for playing ball, and cosy wood burners to warm tired paws. A 20 minute film is included in the entrance fee together with a visit to see the donkeys and craft shops. Snug studio-style property providing a countryside retreat. A superb peaceful location in the heart of beautiful North Devon this Grade II listed barn, adjacent to the owners' farmhouse, is situated on a 27 acre small holding with a variety of farm animals. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Clovelly and we are delighted to hear that you dined on the delicious, fresh Clovelly Lobster served in the Red Lion restaurant. Quite pricey at £6.80 per person but you do get a discounted meal offer for the New Inn Hotel which I highly recommend you avoid as the food is of poor quality and over priced. Our Land Rover Service is available Easter to October, for which there is a small charge. Perfectly situated just a short drive from the coast and amidst stunning lakes and an abundance of wildlife, this lovely lodge provides great base from which to explore North Devon and Cornwall. The walk up and down is not for the faint hearted but it is well worth the effort. If you are in the area this is one you should put onto your list to visit. There are two inns/hotels in Clovelly, the New Inn approx half way down and the Red Lion Hotel on the quayside. Review tags are currently only available for English language reviews. As an alternative you can perch on the quay side and get snacks and drinks from the Quay Shop and the Seafood Shop, just few steps back up the hill. If visitors feel they are unable to manage the walk up/down the street, ask at the Visitor Centre reception to book a seat in the Land Rover. Beware it is a good pull back up the hill to leave. The entrance fee is a bit high but I think its value for money. You have to pay to go down to the village but it is worth it. I thought £6.95 to go in through the very commercialised visitor centre and into the village was almost as steep as the hill it is situated on.
