For some transmissions, a little whine in certain gears is completely normal. Recently changed the run flats that were on the car (Continental ContiSport Contact 3 SSRs) to some non run flat Continental ContiPremium 6s and this has helped with the road noise a fair bit (as well as the ride comfort) but I'm still getting windshield and wing mirror wind noise about 50mph which is distracting and which I would not expect of a £40k car. I am not sure if you can check the windscreen markings and see if they match the other bits of glass to help you ascertain if it is a different bit of glass to the one from the factory. Car dealer said its aircon tube and its normal. So it would have been condensation on aircon tube. When I bought my car i had a concern or two around the clutch and BMW head office as well as the selling dealer who was 3 hours away from me, were very supportive and agreed to resolve it anyway they could if I found there to be a problem after a free (paid for by them) diagnostic at a more local dealer.
